Meet the team behind Wyton
Great food might start in the kitchen, but it takes a team to bring it all together.
Behind Wyton is a group of people with years of experience across restaurants, cafés, catering and events in Warrnambool and South West Victoria. Some have been part of Wyton for close to two decades, others bring experience from kitchens across the region, and some are just beginning what we think will be long careers in food.
Together, they're the people behind the food in our café, the meals in our take-home fridge and the weddings and events we cater across the region.
There's a lot of knowledge in this team, but there's also genuine care for what leaves our kitchen. Whether we're making lunch for one person or catering one of the biggest days of someone's life, that matters to us.

Jess
Owner
Jess might not be the person you want cooking your wedding dinner. Thankfully, she knows the people who should.
Before becoming the owner of Wyton in 2026, Jess had already spent 14 years working within the business, much of it across front of house, functions and events. That experience means she understands the other side of catering. Not just what happens in the kitchen, but what needs to happen around it.
For weddings and events, that means working with clients to understand what they're trying to create, then bringing together the menu, drinks, staffing, equipment, venue requirements and timings needed to make it work.
Alongside Wyton, Jess has built a career across accounting, business and HR consulting, experience that now comes together in running the business and leading its next chapter.
Her job isn't to reinvent Wyton. It's to protect what has made it special for more than 20 years, bring the right people around it and keep building on what came before.
And, wherever possible, stay out of the kitchen.
The kitchen team

Dave
Kitchen
With decades of experience in commercial kitchens, including 14 years as Head Chef at one of Warrnambool's best-known pubs, Dave brings a huge amount of knowledge to the Wyton kitchen.
He's part of the team developing our menus, creating the food you see across the café and take-home fridge, and delivering our catering and events.
He knows good food, cares about the details and, despite what his cheeky grin might suggest, takes what leaves the kitchen very seriously.
He also knows an alarming number of obscure sporting statistics and general knowledge facts, should that ever become relevant to your catering.

Bec
Kitchen
After 18 years at Wyton, there isn't much Bec hasn't been part of.
She's behind many of the cakes, slices, scones and sweets people have been coming back for year after year, but her experience extends well beyond the cake cabinet.
Weddings, private dinners, Christmas parties, the Port Fairy Folk Festival, the May Racing Carnival and countless events in between, Bec has been there.
She knows Wyton, she knows our food and she knows what it takes behind the scenes to get an event out the door.

Daniel
Kitchen
With more than 20 years at Wyton, Daniel helped build the reputation for good food and catering the business is known for today.
His experience spans everything from intimate dinners and weddings to major regional events, and it continues to shape not only the food, but the way Wyton approaches catering.

Naomi
Apprentice
Naomi is in her second year as an apprentice and building her career surrounded by a kitchen team with decades of experience to share.
She brings curiosity, confidence and a willingness to learn to everything she does, whether she's working on the day's café menu, preparing catering or developing her skills alongside the rest of the team.
We're proud to be part of the beginning of her career and, based on what we've seen so far, there's plenty more to come.
She also remains one of the strongest lines of defence between Jess and some of her more questionable Instagram recipe suggestions.
Our café and event teams
In the café
They're the faces you'll probably get to know first. Our café team are the people making your coffee, plating up your lunch, packing your take-home meals and helping you work out what you're having for dinner.
They know what's in the cabinet, what's just come out of the kitchen and what you should probably grab before someone else does.
More than anything, they're friendly, down to earth and here to help. Ask them a question, ask for a recommendation or have a laugh while you wait for your coffee.
Good food matters to us, but so does how you feel when you walk through the door.
At your event
When Wyton leaves Kepler Street, our event team comes with us. From an intimate dinner to a wedding, corporate function or major event, they're the people who bring the service side of your plans to life.
Food service, drinks service or a combination of both, we build the team around what your event needs.
They work alongside our kitchen team and behind the scenes to keep things moving, look after your guests and make sure you're not the person worrying about whether everyone has a drink or when the next course is coming out.
Small, large and everything in between, they've got you covered.
Placeholders using existing café photos — a team shot would sit better here.
You enjoy your event. We'll look after your guests.
